A dive bar, a tango environment, a card game of truco, a pregnant waitress mistreated by a boss, who later ends up leaving her in the street with her newborn son. The son, named Faxman after an old illusionist, grows up and becomes an illusionist himself, traveling through different Argentine cities with his show. During one of his performances, Faxman meets Candelaria, who becomes his assistant as well as the love of his life.
