Oteyza began his career with the fiction short film Siete Notas in 1971, but has dedicated most of his work to documentary films, among which El Pueblo Soy Yo: Venezuela en Populismo, Tiempos de Dictadura, CAP 2 Intentos, and Rómulo Resiste stand out.
