Christian Lara
Christian Lara was born in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe and is known as the “Father of West Indian Cinema.” Formerly a journalist (based in France) he has directed over twenty films since 1971, including Coco-La-Fleur, candidat (1978), Bitter Sugar (1998), 1802 freedom now (2004) and Lost Heritage (2009).
