František Filipovský was born in Prelouc, Austra-Hungary (now the Czech Republic). In his youth and into adulthood he participated in numerous small theater companies throughout Europe, notaly the Zizkov and National Theatre in Prague. In addition to his numerous theater and Czech television roles, Filipovský was also a talented voice-over artist.
